I have been attending Emma’s classes for over three years. From the start I felt at ease in the class which was, and continues to be, friendly and welcoming. I originally started the class as I kept suffering with back pain and this disappeared within the first couple of weeks! I have never looked back!
I now feel stronger in my core and thoroughly enjoy the sessions which leave you feeling like you’ve had a workout but not so exhausted that you can’t do anything else.
It doesn’t matter what level you are able to work at, as Emma adjusts the exercises to suit each individual. Every session is different but easy to follow as Emma explains the exercises in great detail with a running commentary. If you miss a class there are plenty of other venues where you can catch up.
I would thoroughly recommend these classes to anyone of any age. I feel fitter and stronger and our group at Ubley are all lovely!
I have been attending Emma’s Pilates classes for nearly 20 years, and I have benefitted so much from working with her. She is thoughtful as well as highly experienced, gearing her classes to all levels of participation so that beginners and the more experienced can get the most out of every session. My body remains supple and has greater core strength, even as I get older, thanks to regular Pilates with Emma. She talks through each exercise in all her classes, which guarantees that you can follow every step and learn quickly. As you progress, however, you can still pick up her teaching points – even many years later – and improve your skills. I feel safe in her professional hands; she is quick to adapt her teaching for anyone who’s having difficulties; for example, through injury or after surgery, and because she attends regular updating workshops, I know she’s on top of her game! And the classes are good fun – Emma may take Pilates seriously but not herself!
